THANK YOU MOTHER NATURE!!

Thanks to everyone who came out on Sunday 2/19 for the second weekend of racing on Sacandaga Lake. Beautiful weather accompanied a great day of racing enjoyed by a nice turnout of riders and spectators. Many of you have been asking if we will have another event. We have tentatively scheduled another one for this Sunday February 26th weather permitting. We are watching the conditions throughout the week and a final decision will be posted here on Saturday. We understand that it is short notice, but we can never depend on Mother Nature's cooperation. With the warmer-than-usual temps predicted for this week, we will have to see what that leaves us to work with. We appreciate your patience as we wait out another weird week of weather here in the northeast.

ATTENTION ANXIOUS ICE RACERS

Today is Wednesday January 18th. As of this post we have been in contact with several of our ice locations checking on the conditions that exist at each lake. It does not look favorable for any races this Sunday January 22nd. We will have to wait and see what next week's weather brings before any further decisions can be made. We thank you for your patience and hope that we will still be able to schedule a few events this year.

LAKE GEORGE UPDATE

At this point there still isn't any ice on Lake George making it very doubtful for the Ice Championships to take place on February 11 & 12. If the conditions don't dramatically improve over the next few weeks, we will be forced to move them to the last weekend in February. I know many of you have made hotel reservations for this weekend, but we may have no choice but to postpone the two-day event. It would be a good idea to check with your respective hotels to see about their cancellation policies. We are in constant contact with the Lake George Winter Carnival Committee and will keep you updated as the time gets closer. Unfortunately this is the best information we can pass on at this time. Please continue to check back for further updates.

WITH GREAT SADNESS.....

Please keep the family of Pete Giammalvo of Sideways Promotions in New England in your thoughts and prayers. Pete passed away on Tuesday December 27th after suffering a stroke on Christmas Eve. He was an avid flattrack promotor here in the northeast and the motorcycle community has lost a great advocate and friend. Our sincerest condolences go out to all who knew and loved him.

ICE SCHEDULE ANNOUNCEMENT

We have secured several locations for our ice series again this year. However, due to the constant changing ice and snow conditions we have decided not to announce the specific location until shortly before the event. If one location has better ice conditions, we will place that date on the schedule. The locations scheduled for this year again are

Skidmore Lake, Cairo
Zwicklbauers Hofbrau, Warners Lake, E. Berne
Good Times Restaurant, Ballston Lake, Ballston Lake
Sport Island Pub, Sacandaga Lake, Sacandaga

The anticipated dates are also as follows

Janaury 22
January 29

The Lake George Winter Carnival dates have been scheduled for Febraury 11 & 12.

Please continue to check the website for any updates and let all fans and racers know that we will be having our series again this year, we are just trying to minimize the confusion of switching locations last minute. Hopefully this will work effectively. Now lets just hope for the cold weather to come!

This years Ice Championships...

This years Ice Championships were in jeopardy due to the excessive snow accumulation on Lake George and the frigid temperatures that made it almost impossible to remove. It was determined that we might be forced to cancel this year's events for this reason..........then the phone calls started.

Local racers and businessmen Mark Katz of Katz Construction and Ruben Ellsworth of Ellsworth & Son Excavating volunteered their time and even supplied a crew to run equipment so this event could make the books. AND IT DID!! From early morning to late nite all weekend our staff work tirelessly to bring the 2011 Ice Championships held during the 50th Anniversary of the Lake George Winter Carnival to a successful conclusion. This event has been growing in popularity over the years and this year was no exception. With riders from NY, NH, CT, MA, PA , & NJ on the roster, it was apparent we were in for another exciting Ice Championships competition...AND IT WAS!!

The trophy presentation and celebration at Duffy' Tavern on Sunday nite also served as a "Thank You" platform to so many who had part in this year's activities:

Please continue to support our quad rider #22 Paul Revoir who was seriously injured at the Sacandaga Lake event. We will have the donation jar available at sign-up again and then will move it to the lake on the front stretch for spectator donations. Look for the Red Cross Medic Flag & 50/50 sign. All donations will be turned over to his family who is staying at the Albany Medical Center ICU . We thank you for your continued support and hope that this will be of some help to the family during this difficult time. You can continue to check Paul's progress by logging onto www.carepages.com and searching for BudsProgress

ICE CHAMPIONSHIPS ON SCHEDULE

After spending the day at Lake George on Sunday preping the lake for the NYS Ice Championships, it finally began to take shape. Things look extremely positive for this weekend's events thanks to some of the North Country's racers who donated their time and effort in this huge undertaking. We will have a crew on the lake on Monday also and are prepared to deal with any additional accumulations expected during the week.

Special thanks to our own Tom Kuhn for his repeated trips up North, Ruben Ellsworth of Ellsworth & Son Excavating and Mark Katz of Katz Construction for the use of their equipment and manpower in the snow removal process. We'd also like to thank all the guys from Mud Pond who gave us a hand on Sunday. Their combined efforts will enable us to enjoy the upcoming Ice Championships this weekend, so please thank them all when you see them. Please continue to check back for updates throughout the week

LAKE GEORGE WINTER CARNIVAL UPDATE

We are monitoring the situation at Lake George closely. There was 10+inches on Monday January 31st, however the expected heavy snowfall this week will definitely have a negative impact. The staff from Duffy's Tavern will begin moving some of it today and we also have been contacted by a few people who have offered equipment to help remove the anticipated large accumulations. We will do everything in our power to have the 2011 NYS Ice Championship Series Event go off as scheduled BUT everything is dependent upon the weather and many decisions have to be last minute. Please be patient and continue to check the website for any updates.

NYS ICE CHAMPIONSHIP ACCOMODATIONS

Fort William Henry Lodge is sold out for both February 11th & 12th. However, reservations are still available at the BEST WESTERN @ Exit 21 for the group discount. The direct number for that property is 1-800-234-0265. Reservations can only be made beginning at 8am on Fridays through 4pm on Sundays as the hotel is closed during the week for the winter season. If you are having difficulties, please contact Deb Carpinello @ 518-330-3648 for further assistance.

HOTEL ACCOMODATIONS UPDATE

Fort William Henry/Best Western has extended the cancellation date for rooms until 4pm Wednesday February 9th because of the weather situation. Please check back for further updates

SERIES FINALE

We would like to thank all the participants of the 2011 Ice Racing Series for their support of this series. It certainly proved to be a challenging one, with last-minute venue changes and cancellations forced by Mother Nature. We appreciate everyone's cooperation in all of the scheduling conflicts and hope that you, in turn, appreciate the efforts of our club members and volunteers who work so hard to bring these events to you.

The Janaury 30th race results will be posted shortly together with the Series Overall Standings. As previously stated, the 2011 Ice Series Awards will be presented on Saturday, February 12th during the NYS Ice Championships Presentation at Duffy's Tavern.

We wish to once again extend our thoughts and prayers to #22 Paul Revoir and his family during this difficult time. We had an Injured Rider Donation Jar available throughout the day on Sunday and would like to thank everyone for their generous contributions. We will also have it available during the Lake George event. You can keep updated on his condition by logging onto www.carepages.com and searching for BudsProgress.

RETURN TO SKIDMORE LAKE FOR SERIES FINALE
Jan. 30, 2001 -- DOUBLE POINTS WEEK

We have been receiving many emails and calls regarding the ice conditions at Warners Lake. At this point it is not so much the depth of the ice that is the problem, but the several inches of frozen snow and slush that cover it. We do not have the capabilities to remove this in order to provide ample parking and a safe racetrack. Unfortunately, the extreme cold temperatures have hurt us in this respect. Hopefully next year we will once again return to one of our favorite ice venues.

After speaking with Jay Skidmore, we have agreed to return to Skidmore Lake for the Series finale as he has continued to maintain the ice surface over the past few weeks and should be in race condition come Sunday. As an added incentive to our racers, we will be scoring DOUBLE points for the finale, so don't miss it. Please keep in mind that parking is very limited at Skidmore's and anything you can do to downsize would be greatly appreciated.

Please continue to keep #22 Paul Revoir the injured rider from Sacandaga Lake in your thoughts and prayers . We will have a donation jar available for contributions.

Get Well Soon!!! #444 Rick Franze Sr

Best wishes for a speedy recovery go out to #444 Rick Franze Sr as he recovers from his recent surgery. Get well soon!

SACANDAGA LAKE - 1/23- CANCELLED

Excessive water on the lake has forced us to cancel the January 23 event. Please let pass this on to all interested parties. Check back for updates for next week.

ECR on YouTube

Thanks to JonesCamVideos for the great videos!!!

HERE WE GO AGAIN...BALLSTON LAKE CANCELLED

Once again Mother Nature has fooled us. There is insufficient ice on Ballston Lake, so that venue is now CANCELLED. We will however return to SACANDAGA LAKE again on Sunday January 23 where we know conditions to be favorable for a repeat race. This time, because we have more notice, there will be a few changes:

A permit will be obtained to place the portajohns ON THE LAKE

Sport Island Pub will set up a small tent to sell hot dogs, chili, coffee etc ON THE LAKE

We once again ask that you pass the word on to any interested parties. Please continue to check back for any updates.

Dan Jackson of www.cdsportspix.com has some great race photos, as well as Michael Jones of JonesCAM Micro-Video who suited up several riders throughout the day with helmet-cams. Please check out his work at www.jonesCAM.tv

There will be a donation jar available for #22 Paul Revoir, the injured atv rider from last week. Any contributions will be greatly appreciated. Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

A BEAUTIFUL DAY ON THE GREAT SACANDAGA

With a little bit of luck and a whole lot of last minute effort, we were able to switch venues due to ice conditions for the 2nd event of the 2011 Ice Series from Warners Lake to the Sport Island Pub on Sacandaga Lake. Rider turnout was good considering the venue switch, as were the spectators, many of whom were locals who had never attended a motorcycle/atv ice race event and seemed very pleased with the show. We can't thank Anthony and the staff of the Sport Island Pub enough for their hospitality and for accomodating us on such short notice.

This upcoming week also brings us to another new venue, the Good Times Restaurant on Ballston Lake. It is a highly-anticipated return after nearly 25 years and we look forward to another day of great racing. We will be checking the ice at Ballston Lake on Tuesday and will keep you updated on the conditions.

If the cold weather continues throughout the next week, it looks positive for us to return to Zwicklbauer's Hofbrau on Warners Lake on January 30th.

It is very important to continue to check the website for any last-minute information.

See you Sunday!

#22 Paul Revoir

ELECTRIC CITY RIDERS would like the dirt track community to keep #22 Paul Revoir in their thoughts and prayers as he recovers from serious injuries sustained during the Quad A Main Event yesterday at Sacandaga Lake.

FINAL PREPARATIONS UNDERWAY

Everything seems to have fallen in place for our relocation to Sacandaga Lake ( Sport Island Pub) tomorrow. We have taken every effort to notify the riders of the change and appreciate everyone's help in passing the word. We would like to thank the Sport Island Pub for welcoming us on such short notice and being so cooperative in finalizing all the details that's go into such an event. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow for the 2nd race of the 2011 Ice Series

Also, the Sport Island Pub will be serving breakfast during sign-up

Thanks www.cdsportspix.com for continuing to take great photos of our races. www.cdsportspix.com Has been taking professional photos of our races for a while and we encourage everyone to visit their site.

CHANGES TO ICE SERIES SCHEDULE
********VERY IMPORTANT**********

BAD NEWS: Due to the recent snowstorms we have been watching the ice conditions at Warners Lake and it has been determined that we have no choice but to cancel our event scheduled for Sunday January 16th..

GOOD NEWS: We have worked out a last minute deal with Sport Island Pub on the Great Sacandaga Lake in Northville, NY. They have excessive ice (so we will be able to park on the lake), a great sign-up area (full service restaurant and bar) and are excited for us to bring organized motorcycle races to their location.

Please tell everyone you know that the location for this week's event has changed. Warners Lake will remain on the schedule for January 30th. We are disappointed to have to cancel the Warners Lake event for this week, but safety is our number one priority. However, we are happy to be invited to another venue. It will be the first time here for AMA motorcycle/ATV races, and hopefully not the last!

This website will be updated tomorrow and also on Saturday, January 15th. Please continue to check for further updates.

MORE WELL WISHES

We want to wish ECR club member Truman Renz a speedy recovery from his recent surgery. Feel better soon!

SKIDMORE LAKE SUMMARY

It was another record season opener yesterday as riders and spectators braved the cold and blustery conditions for the start of the 2011 Ice series at Skidmore Lake. With everyone's cooperation, the day's events ran smoothly and finals were complete well before dusk.

However, there is one issue that continues to surface

PLEASE READ........ALL RACERS - BIKES & QUADS

With the continued large turnout of racers, scoring has once again become an issue. The blowing snow from Mother Nature together with the ice kicked up from a full lineup of machines has hampered the visibility for our veteran scorer. Deb Kvinlaug has been scoring these events for many years, but even her skills were tested yesterday. She does her best to score each and every rider but weather conditions can make this very difficult. Add that to the many riders who don't have the standard number plates that we have previously requested and it becomes almost impossible. From now on it will be MANDOTORY for all racers to have 8x10 WHITE/YELLOW number plates with standard 1-inch wide BLACK numbers> on the FRONT & LEFT SIDE (BACK IS OPTIONAL). When you lineup for practice, you will be checked for the correct number plates. IF they are not acceptable, you will NOT be allowed on the track. We are working hard to find the solution to this ongoing problem. It is not fair to our scorer or the racers who have complied with our requests, so please be cooperative.

We look forward to seeing you at Warners Lake on Sunday January 16th. Please check back during the week for Ice updates.

IMPORTANT INFO.....PLEASE READ

All AMA Ice Tire Rules will be strictly enforced * Anyone with illegal tires/screws will be disqualified * No Refunds.

CONFIRMED............SUNDAY IS A GO

We have just received confirmation from Jay Skidmore that the lake will be ready for the beginning of the 2011 Ice Series on Sunday January 9th. Please take note of the IMPORTANT REMINDERS listed below. We will see everyone on Sunday for the kickoff.

Electric City Riders extends best wishes to District 3/Club Referee Rob Choate and club members Amy Radley and Mark Supley for a speedy recovery from their recent surgeries. Get Well Soon!

WELCOME EVERYONE TO THE 2011 ICE SERIES

This Sunday is the start of the 2011 Ice Series at Skidmore Lake. This year the 4-event series will visit 3 different venues (Skidmore Lake, Warners Lake & Ballston Lake) during the month of January. Last year we had a record number of riders and spectators for this Winter Series and we anticipate another action-packed ice season this year . The Series Points Awards Ceremony will take place on the 1st day of the NYS Ice Championships at Lake George (February 12th) with a special Trophy Presentation at Duffy's Tavern after completion of that day's events.

We have been informed by Jay Skidmore that conditions at the Lake are favorable for our 1st event and should remain so as long as the temperatures stay below freezing this week. He will confirm the conditions once again with us on Wednesday January 5th so please check back.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS
Radiator overflow catch-cans are REQUIRED
Tether switches on all quads are REQUIRED
White plates with black #'s on quads FRONT & BACK (for scoring) are REQUIRED

Last year with the large quad turnout, it was nearly impossible to score so many machines. If you have the number bibs, please feel free to wear them. Otherwise, please have white number plates with legible black numbers on the front and back of your machines. We want to score you correctly so your cooperation is essential.

GATES OPEN ($10 admission) 8AM
SIGNUP ($40) 8AM-10:45AM
RIDERS MEETING 10:45AM
PRACTICE 11AM
RACES NOON

Please keep in mind it is crucial to our continued success that we be respectful of each and every ice location. ALL LAKES SHOULD BE LEFT CLEAN. There were some problems with this last year and we encourage eveyone to police themselves and their neighbors as we ALL will lose if we are not invited back due to this issue.

In the Books

As the sun shone everywhere on Sunday except at the Indian Lookout Country Club, it didn't deter the many enthusiasts, both racers & fans, who showed up once again for 18th Annual Memorial Cup Race. This time Mother Nature showed her kinder side as the cool temperatures and cloud cover maintained the beautiful track conditions that track personnel had in place. The 200+ riders gave the crowd just what they came for.......dirt track racing at its best. Three heats of Open Experts set the grid for the Cup Race along with the Dash For Cash sponsored by The Paddock & Manor House Pizza. #59b Jake Constantine, who won the Aaron Creamer Memorial at Square Deal Riders the nite before also won the Dash. However, his bid at a double-header victory was lost when #58 Adam Carpinello grabbed the lead from him on lap 19 after a front-stretch crash brought out the red flag. Carpinello took home the victory with Constantine a close second. #26b Lowell Carson rounded out the 2010 podium. #110 Jamison Minor was awarded the Rob Gette Memorial Plaque as winner of the Open Amateur feature.

Once again we would like to thank all of the riders, sponsors and fans for your continued support of this event. We hope you enjoyed all of the races brought to you on Memorial Cup Day and look forward to seeing you at our last event of the dirt track season on October 3.

The 2011 Ice Schedule is in the works. The dates and places will be announced shortly.

Track Photographer Dan Jackson, who himself took a hit during a quad TT event, has some amazing pictures of the day. We now realize how much he risks to bring us great photographs so please continue to support his work. www.cdsportspix.com

Thanks to Jake Malanowski for some great You Tube Videos!

2010 Trail Riders Weekend in the Books

Once again this year, the combined Trail Riders Expo and Open Practice/District 3 Points race was a success. Many of the participants from the practice session on Saturday returned on Sunday to join the growing field of dirt track competitors here at the Indian Lookout Country Club. The packed-house didn't seem to mind the cloudy and damp conditions throughout the day (which provided for a great racetrack) and the features were completed just as the skies opened up. We would like to thank everyone involved at Trail Riders Expo, the Indian Lookout Country Club and Electric City Riders for their contribution to another successful event.

ECR to host #97 Rob Gette Memorial on Saturday

In addition to the District 3 race on Sunday August 22nd, we have been asked to host a Celebration of Life in honor of #97 Rob Gette, a dirt track racer with roots here in the northeast who was killed on August 7th at the Virginia International Raceway. All those who knew and loved Rob are invited to join us on Saturday August 21st beginning at 1:30 for a celebration of his life. We will have food, beverages, live music and lots of story-telling. Please feel free to bring a dish of your choice. In addition to the memorial, there will also be a special presentation on Sunday to the Open Amateur Main Event Winner in Rob's honor.

August 8th Results up

Please check out our Standings Page for the posted results.

Thanks go out to Capital District Sports Photography for another great job taking photos of the race.

NYS 1/2 Mile Championships

It was a great day all around at the NYS 1/2 Mile Championships on Sunday. From the mini class all the way up to the V-Twin XR750's riders battled it out on the high banks of Lebanon Valley Speedway. During the show, fans could also enjoy the midway activities which included a bike show, vendors and live entertainment. We would like to thank the Lebanon Valley Speedway for inviting us back again this year and all our event sponsors that continue to support our efforts to bring some exciting and enjoyable dirt track racing to our community.

This weekend we will once again be participating with the 2010 Trail Riders Expo and host a flattrack & tt clinic on Saturday August 14 from 1pm to 3pm followed by an Open Practice session from 3pm to 6pm. The cost for practice is $20 but you will have to purchase a day pass from Trail Riders Expo which will admit you to all activities throughout the entire day (see event schedule below). Don't miss one of the most action-packed weekends of the year.

The next weekend is packed full of activities as we return to the Indian Lookout County Club for an open practice on Saturday, August 13 from 3pm to 6pm in conjunction with the 2010 TrailRiders Expo weekend. You will need a day pass or weekend pass from TrailRiders (which can be purchased in advance at www.trailrex.com or at the TrailRiders gate that day) in order to enter the facility on Saturday in addition to the $20 cost for practice to EC. This pass entitles you entrance to all TrailRiders Expo activities throughout the entire day.

See below for a complete list of all events.

Sunday August 14 will be a regularly scheduled ENYSC District 3 event sponsored by TrailRiders Expo. Regular $10 admission applies (unless you have purchased a weekend pass from TrailRex then admission is free)

Finish out the month with a regular District 3 event on Sunday, August 22.

Upcoming Events

Mother Nature Wins

Even though it never rained on Sunday, the fog and moisture in the air prevented the staff and volunteers from drying the track out, and with visibility an issue also, the race was cancelled. The event will not be rescheduled. Please save your wristbands, as they are your raincheck for the next event. We would like to thank everyone who showed up for their patience and understanding. Every effort was made to get this race off, but we just couldn't catch a break from Mother Nature. Unfortunately, this is part of dirt track racing. We hope to see you again on July 11th for the NYS Short Track Championships.

Phone Issues

It has come to our attention that the contact numbers listed are currently not working. After checking with Sprint, they notified us that the cell-site tower in the area of the track is currently down. It should be up and working before the next event. If not, there will be alternate numbers listed.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

If you are looking for weather information about tomorrow's race, or any other info, please call:

518-894-4743 -- Ask for Deb

June 6th Rescheduled

After several attempts to dry out the racetrack due to heavy downpours, the rains returned mid-morning and we were forced to cancel Sunday's race. However, we have rescheduled it for next SUNDAY, JUNE 13 so please pass this information on to fellow riders and/or spectators as it is not on our regular schedule. It will be a regular District 3 Points Race, gates will open at 8 am.

June 6th Update

With rain predicted overnite until around 8:00 am tomorrow, the ECR crew will be onsite early and ready to prep the track for whatever conditions Mother Nature delivers to us for the second event of the 2010 season. Your patience and understanding will be appreciated as we are committed to bringing you another great day of racing. Gates will be open at 8:00 am.

SEASON 2 OFF TO A GREAT START!

Beautiful weather was enjoyed by the record number of riders and spectators on hand this weekend for the beginning of our second season at the Indian Lookout Country Club. Joe Roy Jackson Band provided entertainment for the enthusiastic crowd as the battles on the track continued throughout the day. We would like thank everyone for their patience and cooperation in bringing our first dirttrack event of 2010 to a successful conclusion.

ATTENTION ALL RIDERS:

As we anticipate the large turnouts to continue, we are focusing on implementing some new "sign-up" procedures beginning at the next race. Please take note of this when you arrive to sign up as our goal is to make the process easier for both riders and personnel. In addition, we will be restructuring Practice to be more time-effective.

This past Sunday we had many riders who did not have their AMA card or did not have a valid card with them at signup. From now on you will not be allowed to sign up without proof of a current AMA membership.

    This means if:
  • You forgot your card
  • You lost your card
  • You don't have a card

You will have to purchase a new membership at the track if you want to race. If you have lost your current card, please contact the AMA so that you can have a new one mailed to you BEFORE the next race. If you purchased your renewal/new membership online, then you will need to bring your confirmation slip with you to the track. Racers holding LIFE memberships that do not have their card any longer are included in this. ANYONE WITHOUT PROOF OF A VALID, CURRENT AMA MEMBERSHIP WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RIDE. There will be NO exceptions. Please do not misunderstand this as us being difficult. With over 200 entries per race now, we are forced to tighten the procedures for the safety of the racers and the security of the Electric City Riders Club.

Also, please note that all riders must have a valid 2010 AMA District card in order to sign up. It can be from another AMA district but must be a valid 2010 membership.

More Race Results are up!

Please visit our Standings page for newly updates results.

We did it!

With shorter days upon it was a challenge to get the last race of the Inaugural season in the books. Mother Nature ONCE AGAIN dumped on us the night before the event and track personnel had their work cut out for them. When the track was ready, 33 heats and 24 features were completed with no major delays bringing the 2009 Inaugural Season at the Indian Lookout Country Club to its conclusion.

We surely had many obstacles to overcome with this new facility, but our biggest hurtle this year seemed to be Mother Nature. Though she tested us before almost every event, come race day even she cooperated and we were able to complete every race on the schedule. This would not have been possible without the continued commitment and support of all the members, volunteers, riders and fans. We at Electric City Riders would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of our first season!

With the dirt track season completed, we now move on to the 2010 Ice Race Series. In addition to the NYS Ice Championships at the Lake George Winter Carnival on February 13 & 14, 2010, we are fortunate enough to be welcomed back to Skidmore Lake in Cairo on January 10th & January 24th and once again at Zwicklbauer’s Hofbrau on Warner’s Lake in East Berne on January 17th & 31st. As always, these dates are dependent on weather conditions. Directions and ice conditions will be posted here as the time approaches. Dates and locations have already been added to the Electric City Riders' Calendar.

It has come to our attention that we also have a National Rider in the ATV class. National #113, Doug Crossway, has been racing in the Pro Class for the National Series ATVA Extreme Dirt Track since 2006 and is #9 in the Pro-Am Unlimited Class and #14 in the Pro Class. Congratulations Doug!

The ENYSC District Banquet is scheduled for November 28, 2009 at the Best Western in Cobleskill, NY. District 3 members will be receiving their information shortly. It is also open to the public and if you would like to attend please contact Debbie Kvinlaug @ 518-477-2524 AFTER 3pm for more information.

Again our thanks and hope to see you at the Banquet!

We are always looking for some great shots of the races, so please use our Contact Page to let us know if you have any photos you would like to submit and have up on our website.

More Great Races!

With the end of the season upon us, the riders and fans still continued to turn out for the back-up date of the Memorial Cup race on Sunday, September 20. Even with the late-nite finish at Square Deal Riders on Saturday, riders and staff were ready for competition come Sunday morning. With only one District 3 event remaining on October 4, riders were looking to accumulate last-minute points toward the ENYSC championships.

Please note, the event scheduled for October 4 will be a full race program, not just TT as originally scheduled. -- Events

We would like to thank everyone for your participation and hope to see you then for the final battle for the 2009 ENYSC championship titles.

September 13th Results are up!

Please take a look at our Standings page for the results of all the races on the 13th.

Be sure to check out our friends at CD Sports Pix for some great shots of the races

We will have the results for the Septempber 20th races up asap. Please come back and check those out soon.

17th Annual Cup Race in the Books

After an early morning mist, the weather once again provided us with favorable conditions for the running of the 17th Annual Memorial Cup race.

The packed-house watched as expert & amateur riders from New York, New England, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Pennsylvania battled it out throughout the day. After several heat races & LCQÕS, the grids were set for the DASH FOR CASH and Cup Race. In the Dash, 17b Mike Radley grabbed the lead in the 6-lap shootout and never looked back. After a few mishaps in the Cup Race, 12 Justin Velicky took home the top honor. Even with a late start due to wet track conditions, the entire program was complete before dusk.

We would like to thank all our riders fans, and advertisers for once again supporting this annual tradition. We hope to see you this Sunday, September 20, for a regular District 3 event.

We have a few pictuers of the riders in our gallery, please check it out: Gallery.

We will also have the standings up as soon as possible. Please check back with us soon!

Another National # for Electric City Riders

After rains hit the Illinois State Fairgrounds last weekend, postponing the Springfield Shorttrack until Monday September 7, #17b Michael Radley from Coeymans Hollow, NY placed 3rd in the GNC Singles Series Heat 2 earning him a spot in the National Main Event. Mike finished 17th in the Main and will have a new national number next year. Mike is the second rider from Electric City Riders this year to attain national status. CONGRATULATIONS MIKE!!!!!

Important Announcements!

Update for September 13, 2009

The weather is looking fine for one of the most anticipated races of the year . Come see many of the top riders from the northeast battle it out for the Cup trophy. OPEN EXPERTS---the purse is growing, plus DASH FOR CASH. A full amateur program to run as well. Don't miss it!!!

Update for September 20, 2009

There seems to be some confusion regarding our regularly-scheduled District 3 points race on September 20. This date is NOT postponed or cancelled and will run as originally scheduled.

Update for October 4, 2009

This race is listed as TT only. However, a full race program will run on that day: Short Track, TT, and Quads.

Attention all Quads

Due to the visibility issue with scoring, number plates will be available for purchase at the track on race day. We are not able to score you without clear and visible numbers displayed on your machines.

-- Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Record Numbers!

As we hoped, the combined 2009 Trail Riders Expo and Open Practice/District 3 Points race drew a record number of riders and spectators to the Electric City Riders racetrack at the Indian Lookout Country Club this weekend. Many of the participants in Saturday’s practice returned on Sunday to take part in another record-breaking event of our Inaugural season.

Track crews were hard at work , preparing the race surface after an early-morning rain. The 180+ riders were signed in, practice was complete and the race program was underway. Continual grooming throughout the day paid off and the 24 finals were completed just as the evening rain began to fall.

We would like to thank Frank Potter, Bob Ski and the staff of the 2009 Trail Riders Expo for including us in their program, along with our dedicated members who continue to work hard so you can enjoy this new facility.

We hope to see everyone back here on September 13th for the 17th Annual Memorial Cup Race, traditionally one of the richest races here in the northeast. A full race program will be run that day with every level of competition present, from the 50cc minis to national experts. This event is not possible without the help of sponsors. Many businesses and local entrepreneurs have placed ads in the Memorial Cup souvenir program to help support this event. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please download the following sponsorship form, complete it and return with your donation. Ads begin at $50. The deadline for sponsorships is September 5, 2009.

Don't forget to check out the results of the race on our Standings page.

Download Sponsorship Form

*Note* - You will need Adobe Reader to view the Sponsorship Form. Please download/installing Adobe Reader if you are having trouble viewing the document.

We will also be running a DASH FOR CASH on that day, sponsored by Humpy's Bar & Grill.

Once again thank you to all the dirt track fans, riders and families who continue to support our efforts to organize safe, competitive and professional races here at the Indian Lookout Country Club.

'09 TrailRex Expo

Please don't forget to check out the TrailRex Expo!!!

Extreme Heat Hits 1/2 Mile Championships

It was a different scene this weekend at the Lebanon Valley Speedway as riders and fans participated in the 2009 NYS 1/2 Mile Dirt Track Championships. It was just a few short weeks ago the Speedway suffered major damage from torrential rains and flooded creeks, causing it to close down for a short period of time. This time Mother Nature provided a different form of punishment--blistering sun with no relief. However, the extreme heat didn’t deter the motorcycle enthusiasts, who enjoyed the day’s events which included vendors, food, entertainment and some of the fastest dirt track racing here in the northeast. Electric City Riders would like to once again thank all the club members and volunteers who withstood sweltering conditions to make this event possible.

With the conclusion of this special event we move back to our home at the Indian Lookout Country Club on Saturday, August 22 for an Open Practice session from 2pm to 7pm running in conjunction with the 2009 Trail Riders Expo and our regularly-scheduled District 3 points race on Sunday, August 23. Please check out TrailRex for a list of all special events beginning on Thursday, August 20 through Sunday August 23.

Please check out our Standings page for race results.

Don't don't forget to check out our friends at cdSportsPix.com. As always they have some amazing shots they are going to post on their site.

Great Race last Sunday!!!

As the rain clouds rolled in to the Indian Lookout Country Club on Sunday, so too came the riders and fans. Even though weather predictions were grim, staff was ready and the day’s events got underway. With only one short rain delay during the features, the sun finally broke through as the program was completed.

As always, don't forget to check out the results of the last race on our Standings Page

We at Electric City Riders would like to thank all volunteers, riders and fans for another successful event and we hope to see you all at Lebanon Valley Speedway on August 16 for the NYS 1/2 Mile Championships.

August is going to be busy!!!

Just a reminder to everyone to take a look at our Events page.

We have a few big events coming up in August:

  • August 9th @ ILCC
  • August 16th 1/2 Mile Championship @ Lebanon Valley Speedway
  • August 22nd Open Practice from 2pm to 7pm @ ILCC
  • August 23rd @ ILCC
** Please don't forget to checkout the Trail Rider's 2009 Expo while you are at Indian Lookout Country Club August 20 to the 23rd

There's A New National Number Amongst Us!

Electric City Riders would like to congratulate their own Adam Carpinello, #58b, for earning his National Number during Round 4 of the AMA Pro Grand National Twins Championship at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, MD. Adam qualified his XR750 16th overall out of 51 riders, earning him a front row start for his heat race. The program was condensed due to weather, and the heats were set.....16 riders, 3 rows and only top 6 to advance. With past champions Chris Carr and Jake Johnson in his heat, the pressure was on, but Adam took the last spot away from National #16 AJ Eslick. This advanced him to the Main and earned him his National Number. The Main Event was also cut due to rain, with Adam finishing 16th. Many District 3 riders, families and friends helped Adam celebrate the nite's accomplishments.

What a great turn-out!

Despite severe thunderstorms and torrential downpours throughout the week (and even during the night on Saturday), track crews worked feverishly to drain the water and grade the surface to ensure a smooth track on race day. Our efforts were rewarded with beautiful track conditions for the second event of our Inaugural season. We would like to thank the huge crowd that turned out to enjoy the day's events, which included Grand National Champion Kenny "The King of Cool" Coolbeth showing the way around the 3/8 mile oval in the Open Expert and 450 Expert classes.

Due to the continued large turnouts, we are currently working to reorganize the raceday format by streamlining class structure. At any venue, 38 heat races and 23 finals take time to complete. We understand it is a long day for riders and spectators as well as club volunteers. In order to proceed throughout the program in a more timely manner, we will be making some schedule changes that should make the day more enjoyable for everyone involved here at the Indian Lookout Country Club. We appreciate your input and thank you for your suggestions. Please check back for future updates on the situation.

Hope to see you on August 9th! - Our Events

We also would like to let everyone know that the photographers at cdSportsPix took some amazong photos at the event. Check out a few sample shots in our gallery and take a look at all the shots at cdSportsPix

NOTE: Please check back soon for standings

July 12th - Event Reminder!

Please be sure to take a look at our Events page.

ATTENTION, to all minors wanting to race, please remember to have the notarized permission slip filled out and submitted. Please download the Form. For future reference, the form is also located at the bottom of our Events page.

With the first race in the books, we look forward to the next event of our Inaugural Season at the ILCC on July 12. Crews have been busy all month long (with a short break during the Rendezvous event) working the track surface, including wider turns and bigger jumps on the tt course and continual grading and rock-picking on the flattrack. During the past week, Steve Longo has completed construction of the new tower. THANK YOU STEVE!!!

Please Note: As with any new venue, there are always areas to beimproved upon. In order to avoid excess congestion in the pit area, we will have someone directing pit parking and spectator parking. Only race vehicles will be allowed to park in the pits. Spectators must park in the designated area, but will be allowed to enter the pits with a bracelet.

We anticipate everyone's cooperation in our efforts to provide a safe and enjoyable program for riders and spectators alike.

All AMA rules apply

'09 NYS 1/2 Mile Championship @ Lebanon Valley

The 2009 Flattrack Championship will be August 16th, 2009 @ Lebanon Valley Speedway

*** Please NOTE: Pit Gate/Registration opens at 8:00am

Inaugural Race Exceeds Expectations

As the large spectator crowd continued to fill the bleachers and picnic area of the new facility for the season opener, the dirt began to fly as the 140+ riders tested their way around the oval and tt courses. With the cooperation of staff and riders alike, the extended program (30 heat races) ran smoothly. Unfortunately, with 3 finals left in the show, the water truck experienced some mechanical problems. Every effort was made to fix it, but in the end we were forced to call it a day, with rider safety in mind.

We at Electric City Riders have received overwhelming support and encouragement and have made a commitment to continue to improve our new home at the ILCC for the enjoyment of riders and spectators alike. We thank you for attending our Inaugural race and invite you back again on July 12 for some of the fastest, safest and most competitive dirttrak racing here in the northeast. The 67-year tradition continues!

New Track Progress Continues...

Despite some small setbacks (weather & equipment failures) our loyal track crew continues to make progress in all areas. TT track is cut in, fence posts are in place, grass seed is planted, bleachers are being assembled, and most importantly the flattrack is being fine-tuned. We are making every effort to have things in place for the season opener on June 7. Check back for continued updates...........

Season Opener on Schedule

Progress continues and with Mother Nature's continued cooperation, the new track will be race-ready for the June 7th Season Opener at the Indian Lookout Country Club. Bikes & Quads be prepared to enjoy a brand new 3/8th mile track, 50' wide, and a challenging TT track for knobbies, designed and built by racers! Check out the new weekend pictures

ELECTRIC CITY RIDERS HAS A NEW HOME!!!

After learning of the landlord's decision not to renew the lease agreement, club officials were hard at work to locate and continue the 67-year tradition of promoting motorcycle races in New York. A long-term deal was inked and the move is on. Construction of the new track (located only 8 miles west of the old location) in Mariaville, NY will begin in early Spring 09. We will be adding QUADS and a great TT track as well as a sweet 3/8th mile flat track. The Indian Lookout Country Club is a perfect fit for our Club. ILCC, promoters of the world famous Harley Rendezvous, are all lifelong motorcycle enthusiasts, and is the only country club in the country dedicated to bikers. For more info click the link below.
